The next Nic Walkers hike is from the Keepers Pond around the Blorenge. The pond is within the Blaenavon World Heritage Site as well as the National Park. The walk skirts the pond before gradually dropping down and around the Blorenge. There are some stunning views to be enjoyed on the open hillside. We continue into the wooded Punch Bowl with another pond before climbing up on to the hill again. At the top we will pass a Bronze Age Burial Mound and the grave of Fox Hunter, the Olympic Show Jumper. A walk past some old bell pits back to the car park concludes a lovely walk. The walk is fairly easy but there are some stony and muddy paths and the climb in the second half of the walk is moderately steep. Contact Clive if you want more details.
